A Doll’s House Part 2 Weston

A Doll’s House Part 2  is playing at the Walker Farm Theatre at the Weston Playhouse through August 26. This sequel to Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House was a hit on Broadway and is being performed throughout the country this summer. The issues that the original play raised which are further explored in this sequel by Lucas Hnath are absorbing and entertaining. Bob and I  have been talking about them a great deal.

  1. Sally,

Have you and Bob attended the Walker Farm Theatre yet? Jennie and I attended recently to see “FunHome.” It was a disappointing experience. None of the intimacy of Oldcastle. During the performance the music was so loud it was impossible to understand the lyrics of the performers which was essential to carry the story. The seats were hard to get to because there was only one staircase to access them. It looked like 8 or 9 seats across each row. In an emergency when people are totally stressed — I won’t go there. I thought I’d like to see this play but I’m so put off by the theatre, i just don’t know.

    • Hi Nancy,
Thanks for sharing your experience. In our discussion about A Doll’s House 2, we make a point about how much we like the Walker Farm space. We saw Fun Home there and enjoyed it. I am sorry your experience was such a negative one. I do believe that there is more than one staircase. You can call ahead for reserved seats so that you can sit in the first or second row. I believe that the theatre is smaller than Oldcastle. Maybe you would enjoy a non-musical show there better. Th
