Funny Girl

Funny Girl is a musical based on the life of Fanny Brice, a Ziegfield Follies singer and comedienne. The musical catapulted Barbra Streisand to stardom. The music is by Jule Styne, the lyrics by Bob Merrill and the book by Isobel Lennart. Hit songs such as People and Don’t Rain on My Parade are still popular.

Although we have often listened to the music, Bob and I had never seen the play. We had the good fortune to interview three of the major players on opening night of the Mac-Haydn production. Lauren Palmeri who plays Franny, Colin Pritchard who is Eddie Ryan, and Chris Cherin who is Nick Arnstein.  After the interview, we had a wonderful time enjoying the acting, the music, the choreography and every aspect of the show.
